Weekly Photo Challenge: Reflections ~ Your own identity ….

“You can’t see yourself. You know what you look like because of mirrors and photographs, but out there in the world, as you move among your fellow human beings, whether strangers or friends or the most intimate beloveds, your own face is invisible to you. You can see other parts of yourself, arms and legs, hands and feet, shoulders and torso, but only from the front, nothing of the back except the backs of your legs if you twist them into the right position, but not your face, never your face, and in the end – at least as far as others are concerned – your face is who you are, the essential fact of your identity. Passports do not contain pictures of hands and feet. Even you, who have lived inside your body for sixty-four years now, would probably be unable to recognize your foot in an isolated photograph of that foot, not to speak of your ear, or your elbow, or one of your eyes in close-up. All so familiar to you in the context of the whole, but utterly anonymous when taken piece by piece. We are all aliens to ourselves, and if we have any sense of who we are, it is only because we live inside the eyes of others.”

Weekly Photo Challenge: Carefree ~ Bunking College …

“I’ve learned one thing, and that’s to quit worrying about stupid things. You have four years to be irresponsible here, relax. Work is for people with jobs. You’ll never remember class time, but you’ll remember the time you wasted hanging out with your friends. So stay out late. Go out with your friends on a Tuesday when you have a paper due on Wednesday. Spend money you don’t have. Drink ’til sunrise. The work never ends, but college does…”
― Tom Petty

This week’s theme reminds me of my carefree years of college , the lectures we bunked , the partys we had fun , the teasing & silly fights , all those fun times , its difficult to choose from such million memories and thousand photos , so I let my heart pick this three photos randomly …

There in the middle is a girl who couldn’t pose , as her friend was deliberately trying to ruin her pic
lolz… that girl is me & the guy in the full zoom is the one who is trying to click with his stretched hand,
even though I insisted to call upon waiter to get capture the pic… evrything going on is so wrong
yet a beautiful memory has been captured
Mac-donalds...

This one is when we jumped from the college walls, as we were not allowed to go beyond the campus ground,
yet we wanted to watch the movie … & it was scorching summer so we all covered our faces to protect ourselves from the sun burn
& took off to get a ride … coz we used to come in college buses , and so now we had to find a way of our own

Bunking college

This snapshot was taken inside the movie theatre , yeah yeah , I know its not a good behavior to place your shoes
on the front seat , but cum on , we sometimes lose to keep track of our classy behavior when we are with
crazy friends , all we end up doing is silly things & dts wat college days are for ….

Weekly Photo Challenge: Foreshadow…. a sign or simply nothing ….

broken lamp

broken lamp

Foreshadow : A warning … or an indication … a sign ….

It all depends on how we perceive things , we see a broken lamp , & what thought crosses our mind. Its a sign , to tread carefully ahead , of whatever new thing we are planning to do … or to look back and see what we are losing …

But there is a catch , you cannot look at everything and start taking those as some signs , sometimes they are just mere things happening , while sometimes they mean more than that …

the trick lies in drawing the line so that we don’t start hallucinating , or over thinking

Weekly Photo Challenge: Kiss

Kiss , is something you do out of intense love , its a way of expressing love , when words fail , just like photographs , they speak more than 1000 words could. This is an amazing similarity between both a Kiss & a Photo. This is a perfect challenge theme. I was a bit confused as in which one to go with , but finally I chose this one.

My little cousin , who has a thing for bunnys , lolz, and when she sees one ,even a toy , she is like kisses & all , it is her way to express her feelings , how much she adores them. So this one is for her innocent love , she doesn’t even know she is expressing her love for them , & makes it seem even more cute ^_^

Weekly Photo Challenge : Unique: A photo manipulation

This week ‘s challenge is quite interesting , & as soon as I saw this photo , the first word that popped in my mind was UNIQUE , the photo is creation using photo manipulation by

Maja Vuckovic

The mummified zombies, bound endless strands (cords) fate describes the situation of awaited death & miserable life.

While the little girl with violin sitting on chair has bit static effect with it , grounded roots , yet feet not touching , like its waiting for the shield of shoes , before she enters the real world.

On the other hand Robot woman , is the complicate part to explain , she is yesterday or could be the tomorrow , but acts like the other side of the same coin of zombies .

The real meaning is still in the eyes of the viewer ….

Weekly Photo Challenge: Love~ yet to discover

samy love

I have always loved the idea of LOVE , & yet never lived it , Its like walking on the beach & looking at your own reflection, coz the other half of you lies beyond that seas , I think, that I ll meet someone one day, who would possesses the eyes that I never had , but always needed; the vision to see backwards and forwards and all around, the other wing that I need to complete my flight. And I think it can just happen, suddenly, without explanation! And then I think, it would be good to keep that person, I’ll always have those eyes, and always have two wings.

So I just want to say him , whoever he is , wherever he is right now , I don’t know you , but Love will find us & than our journey together will begin coz ,

My love for you is a journey;
Starting at forever,
And ending at never

Weekly Photo Challenge: Solitary …. you sometimes need your own little world …

It’s strange, but when you’re the only person you know who’s gone through something that’s changed you into a completely different person, for a while it’s like you’re on your own planet….

Solitude has different meanings & everyone has different way to perceive it , some people find crowded place as the best place to lose oneself  & find their solitude in such a environment , while some like to go off to wander along the lonely tracks , totally cut off from any communication or contact ….

Some are habituated to live in solitude , while some appreciate solitude time once in a while ….

Here are few pics that i think goes very well with the theme ….

-> “The necessary thing is after all but this: solitude, great inner solitude. Going-into-oneself and for hours meeting no one—this one must be able to attain.”

Rainer Maria Rilke, Letters to a Young Poet

->“I think it’s very healthy to spend time alone. You need to know how to be alone and not be defined by another person.”

~Oscar Wilde

->“Reflection must be reserved for solitary hours; whenever she was alone, she gave way to it as the greatest relief.”

~Jane Austen from Pride and Prejudice

Weekly Photo Challenge: Everyday Life -> College days

Someone said , college time was my best vacation . & I absolutely agree . Everyday I go to college & learn something.& I am not just referring to lecture notes or practicals I perform , I learn about people , I learn how to tackle difficult situation , everyday there is some new task to accomplish , a new target to be completed , new levels of stress to be experienced , you get to know your own stamina .

The lessons of life can never be learned from any institute of the world , it comes from the small things in everyday life.I’ve learned  to quit worrying about stupid things. You have four years to be irresponsible here, relax. Work is for people with jobs. You’ll never remember class time, but you’ll remember the classes you bunked ,  hanging out with your friends. So stay out late. Go out for shopping with your friends on Friday when you have a project presentation due on Saturday. Spend money you don’t have….

Weekly Photo Challenge: Near and Far : Traffic

This week s theme is Near & Far ,I really thought a lot about it as in what concept  would really go with it.
and than it clicked my mind,  while I was driving home back from My friend’s home , there was heavy rainfall in the city , and all the roads where flooded , Even though I was near to my home , it seemed Far away.

Usually it takes me 5 min s to reach from my friend’s place to mine , but , it took almost 45 mins , &than I realized , no matter how fast our cars can drive , it won’t help in the real crisis. We can enhance the features of the car , but we cannot increase the dimensions of the land. Its like we have to still achieve something that looks so near yet its far …..

Thought on Traffic :
“A society sufficiently sophisticated to produce the internal combustion engine has not had the sophistication to develop cheap and efficient public transport?’
Yes, boss… it’s true. There’s hardly any buses, the trains are hopelessly underfunded, and hence the entire population is stuck in traffic”
Ben Elton, Gridlock

Does a photograph really define a Moment ???

A picture is worth thousand words-
But today when i looked back at those pictures , i really questioned myself ,
Is it ? Does capturing a moment really holds That feeling , that was to be preserved …

Those pictures  elicited a certain kind of response as I was viewing them, a message on the eyes….
As I reviews the photos, though, I realized something. I made a conscious decision in each of these moments to temporarily remove myself from absorbing the experience to stand behind a machine that can capture the moment such that I can share it with others.

The only thing that could capture this experience while simultaneously allowing one to live it is the brain, and like all things, its limitation is that it cannot be easily reproduced for others to enjoy.

Every pic had a story to tell , a memory to cherish , the feeling to behold …..
And it s like a series of incidents that you tried to hold on as long as you could , in a way pausing the life ….

This paradox between living and capturing seems to exist all over the place. And Often times I wonder whether I should really capture it at all versus work to experience it more fully and then have the story to tell.~

I do love looking back at the photos I’ve taken ,And I’ll probably continue to go back and forth as life comes at me, having something to show for what I experience some of the time, and something to tell for all of the rest.

Quote of the day :
In my view you cannot claim to have seen something until you have photographed it. – Emile Zola
